Over spring break, I read White Girl Problems by Babe Walker. This book is sort of a memoir of Babe Walker's life in short anecdotes that relate to problems that most "white girls" also struggle with. Babe Walker is a "white girl" from LA struggling with a shopping addiction who lands herself in rehab, which is why she says she is writing this book. This book is actually very relatable; I found I struggled with the same things that she did. The book, of course, was not completely serious, so the humor of the book was very enjoyable. It was a great beach read because it was very entertaining but was not so enthralling that it was hard to put down. 10/10 Would Recommend!

Summer Must-Have: Sunglasses
So let me start off by saying that I am obsessed with sunglasses! I have really light eyes, so sunglasses are a necessity on really bright days. Here are my go-to pairs of sunglasses:
Cat-Eyes
So I love this pair because they are so sassy. They are perfect for a day at the pool or to be paired with an equally sassy outfit. Also, there are so many different styles of cat eyes, so I usually just buy a cheap pair from Urban Outfitters or local boutiques!
Ray-Ban Aviators
I love my aviators! They are perfect for a day at the beach or a more simple outfit! I have ones with gold frames and just regular, non-polarized lenses. I also really like the mirrored lenses, but be careful with that if you want to go tanning because they create a weird tan line on your face. I considered getting the folding ones, but apparently they break more easily. Anyways, if you want nice sunglasses, these would be the first pair I would buy!
Ray-Ban Wayfarers
The wayfarers are perfect for more active days. I always wear mine when I play golf or walk my dog! I have the more modern style because they fit my face better (the other ones are more boxy). Mine are polarized, but you can get them non-polarized if you want to save some money. Mine are simple black, but I want another pair in a fun color or pattern.
If you are going to invest in a pair of good sunglasses, it is imperative that you always put them in the case that they give you! Also, I love wearing croakies so that they won't fall off my head and break or get lost! Lilly Pulitzer, Southern Proper, and several other brands have very cute ones that aren't very expensive. I almost always use mine!
Note: Images are not mine!
Music: The 1975
Ever since I first heard the song "Chocolate", I've been obsessed with the 1975! I heard that song in spring of 2013, so I was able to see the process of them coming out with EPs and finally an album later that year! Their first self-titled album is full of songs that seem to range in genre. Sometimes, they seem kind of rock, sometimes they seem kind of 80's pop, and sometimes they just seem to have created a genre all their own!
My favorite songs on the album include "Settle Down", "Menswear", "Me", and of course "Chocolate". The band has created what they like to call "cinematic music", where you can almost get a picture in your head or feel like you are in a music video when you listen to it.
The band consists of four members, George Daniels, Ross MacDonald, Adam Hann, and Matty Healy. They met in high school and have been a band for ten years, having several other names before The 1975.
I have to include my love for Matty Healy in this post. He is one of the most attractive people I've ever met (yes, I did meet him!). He also has such an amazing mind, as you can tell from all of the interviews that he does. The has such an amazing image for the band. His hair definitely has personality all its own! If you see him in concert, it is obvious that he truly feels the music that he creates.
So why did the band choose the name the 1975? In a book of poetry, there was a date that ended with "the 1975", and the band liked it, so that's what they called themselves! They have sort of branded themselves with the use of black and white, a rectangle, and of course the name "The 1975".
This was definitely the best concert I've ever been to! I went in October 2013 to the smallest venue they had played in the US. There were only about 1,000 people there. I was in the center of the third row of people! I was so close and the music was so loud that you could almost feel like. The opener, Linus Young, was very impressive as well. Anyways, it was just so amazing that I have no words to describe it. Here is a picture of how close I was:
And after the concert, I was able to meet Matt Healy! He came out the venue only like 10 minutes after the show ended. It was raining and several of us were out there waiting for him, and he took the time to talk to all of us and make sure we all got pictures. It was amazing. I got a picture with him, of course in his infamous coat! (Excuse my ratchetness)
Life Tip #1
As I am ending the chapter in my life called high school and beginning the chapter of my life called college, I have found some life advice that I wish I had heard earlier. "If you want to be interesting, be interested." As you find more things that you enjoy doing, the more you find people who enjoy the same things. And the more you do, the more things you have to talk about, even if someone doesn't do exactly what you do. To find things you are interested in, you have to TRY something new. Say yes to anything that interests you in the least. If you find out you don't like it, at least you can say you tried.
This all relates to college because the things you do in high school are what helps you get friends in college. For example, I really enjoy music, so that is a big topic of conversation that I can talk about people with. Also, I can find people who like going to concerts and go with them.
Moral of the story: FIND THINGS YOU LIKE TO DO AND GO DO THEM.
Sorry for the preachiness of this post, but I really wished I knew this earlier. I did a lot of activities in high school, but there are many things that I only started doing my senior year, and I wish I could have done them in all of my years on high school!

¡SENIOR SPRING BREAK!
For my senior spring break, I went to Rosemary Beach, Florida with 20 of my closest friends (only half of them are shown above). We had two houses--one for boys, one for girls. It was so fun! We had a heated pool and a two minute walk to the beach!
I've been going to Rosemary Beach for about 11 years now, so it was fun to take all of my friends down there!
It rained for the first two days, so we visited Seaside and Watercolor, which are about 20 minutes from Rosemary Beach on the same scenic highway, 30A.
One night we went to the Red Bar, a popular restaurant in Grayton Beach, which is about 30 minutes from Rosemary. It is a restaurant with a ton of character, with all of the lights being red. There is almost always a local band playing there as well. The menu is set, and the food is amazing!
Anyways, it was a great last hurrah of high school! Now I only have 50 days until graduation!

Summer Must-Have: PFG Shirt
Before spring break, I ordered a PFG shirt from Etsy, and I fell in love! It fits perfectly and is personalized with my monogram. You can get them in a variety of colors and get a monogram on the back or the front (I got mine on the back). It was about 70° at the beach, so it was a perfect coverup! It's not too warm, but it is waterproof so you don't have to worry about it getting wet!
In case y'all didn't know, PFG stands for performance fishing gear, so these shirts are made to be worn fishing. If you go deep sea fishing ever year like I do, I definitely recommend them. My dad has them, and actually one of my best guy friends complimented me on mine (loling rn). They're not manly, though, trust me!
Here is a picture of me in mine:

Music: Arctic Monkeys
For the last few months, I cannot stop listening to the Arctic Monkeys. Their new album, AM, is their best one yet. It has a rock vibe to it, which makes it very unique. I also love the album artwork, which depicts sound waves.
All of the songs on the album are so good, but a few of my favorites are "One for the Road", "R U Mine", and "Do I Wanna Know". These songs are the ones that you want to roll all of your car windows down, blast the stereo, and sing at the top of your lungs, so all fellow drivers can hear. I honestly cannot believe that this album did not receive a Grammy.
They have several other albums, including Suck It and See and Favourite Worst Nightmare. My second favorite album is Favourite Worst Nightmare, with my favorite songs being "505", "Old Yellow Bricks" and "Do Me a Favour."
The Arctic Monkeys have such creative lyrics; it's amazing. For example:
"I knew this would be in the cards, but I knew you wouldn't fold" -"One for the Road"
"Falling about, you took a laugh down last laugh lane" -"Mardy Bum"
There are several more, but these are just two of my faves.
Besides the amazing music that the Arctic Monkeys make, they have possible the hottest man as the lead singer. The one, the only, Alex Turner.
He reminds me of the '60s and Grease, and I love it! He has a unique style and the hottest British accent. Sometimes you can even see his accent when he talks/sings.
Apart from Alex Turner, the other band members include Jamie Cook, Nick O'Malley, and Matt Helders.
One of the best concerts I've ever been to was Arctic Monkeys. I went to this concert in February with two of my friends. We waited in 20° weather with wicked wind for four hours to get a good spot in the pit. People had camped out the night before to get in the front. I go to at least one concert a month, and this was the first one where I've actually seen people do that. Anyways, we got a good spot and had an amazing time. There were people of all ages there, not just teenagers like me. The crowd was so wild that I got separated from my friends. I wish that the band talked more because they didn't talk very much, but their performance was amazing!
When I was at the concert, I bought some merch because I'm such a fangirl. Not sorry about that. Anyways, I got this shirt (It's cuter in person, I promise):
And these buttons:
Anyways, I love the Arctic Monkeys (obviously) and I really recommend that y'all listen to them. If you can, go to one of their concerts and you will have an unforgetable experience.
